General Description: The Médecins du Monde (MDM) International network is comprised of twelve delegations around the world, whose aim is to provide the world's most vulnerable populations with medical assistance. Each delegation is responsible for raising its own funds, establishing its own programs and deploying its own personnel. The delegations share information and experience and develop general policy guidelines at periodic international meetings. The delegations also cooperate on a project-specific basis.
Program Information: The Médecins du Monde network has projects in more than seventy countries around the world.
Describe the typical project length and style - community service, technical assistance, etc.
Qualifications: Member organizations of the Médecins du Monde network accept doctors, nurses, health workers and other technical and administrative personnel, according to the nature of each mission.
Doctors and other health workers must have a recognized university degree and be fluent in (at least) the English language.
What are the required qualifications for participants - experience, age, citizenship, etc.
Financial Arrangements: All travelling and living expenses are paid. When participating in a mission for more than one month, participants are compensated with a stipend.

Mission Statement: Médecins du Monde's ideology is "to help, care and witness" and to do this with farsighted and long term contributions which lead to increased abilities of the recipients and project partners to provide their own continuing care to the vulnerable populations.
