Programs
A wide variety of ecology-oriented programs are coordinated through local in-country conservation organizations. Projects can be done for as little as one week, and many programs have an open-ended participation period.
Qualifications
Qualifications vary, but the minimum age is typically 18 years of age. Experience in ecology is not generally required.
Financial Arrangements
Projects are done on a fee basis, with fees varying widely between projects and countries.

History: The Ecovolunteer Program started in 1992 as a by-product of a Dutch nature travel organisation. In 1998 the Ecovolunteer Program became a completely independent organisation.
