What Are Cookies?
Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your
computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our
systems to recognize your browser and to provide features such
as the Matching Service.
How do I Enable Cookies?
The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell
you how to change you browser to accept cookies.
For some popular browsers, here are the locations of the cookie settings:
Netscape 3.0: Options -> Network Preferences -> Protocols
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0: Internet Options -> Advanced
Netscape 4.0: Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0: View -> Internet Options -> Advanced
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0: Tools -> Internet Options -> Security.
If you select Internet and then click on Custom Level,
you will get a dialog box where you can accept cookies.
After enabling cookies, click
Continue
to return to what you were doing on this site.
I Enabled Cookies, But I Still Get This Warning
There are two likely possibilities for this:
You may be running software that interferes with cookie usage.
There are many filtering and blocking software packages available for
Internet users, and manyof them also filter cookies.
If you are running software like this,
then your computer may not be receiving cookies.
This will make it look to this site that your browser is not accepting cookies.
Your machine may be behind a firewall or proxy server that prevents cookie
transmission.
This is most likely in a corporate environment.
So, regardless of how your browser is set,
cookies will not be sent or received by your browser.
Since the cookies are not making it through to your browser,
then cookies are effectively disabled.
